President Donald ‌Trump said on Friday the United ‌States could end the war with ‌Iran quickly, but questioned whether Washington should seek a swift conclusion or allow the conflict to gradually ‌wind down.

"We could end it very quickly," Trump said.

"Do we want to finish ‌it off or just want to let it wither?" Speaking to reporters on the White House South Lawn as he left on a trip to Florida, Trump said oil is getting out through the Strait of Hormuz.

"We are getting everything we want,' he said.

Turkey warns of new regional conflict

The Turkish foreign minister warned on Friday that a new attack on Iran would further spread war and conflict across the region.

“Military intervention in Iran is by no means a solution. No one supports this at the moment,” Hakan Fidan told reporters after an R4+E3 meeting in Istanbul, the first-ever meeting in this format.

The US and Israel are said to have developed plans for renewed strikes against Iran after the American midterm elections.

The war that began in late February has yet to be settled despite a ceasefire and a memorandum of understanding to finalize a peace deal.

Iran on highest combat readiness

Iran’s Army Ground Forces commander Brig Gen Jahanshahi ordered military unit commanders to maintain the highest level of combat readiness, warning that negligence during wartime could have serious consequences, Tasnim News Agency reported on Friday.

“In wartime conditions, any negligence or carelessness can carry heavy costs,” Jahanshahi said, according to Tasnim.

He stressed that maintaining effective operational readiness requires continuous training, accurate assessments of military capabilities, coordination among units and the rapid identification and correction of shortcomings.

Jahanshahi also instructed commanders at all levels to strengthen combat capabilities through careful planning, continuous supervision and effective follow-up.

The remarks come amid heightened military tensions between Iran and the US following months of hostilities and ongoing disputes over security and maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
