SUKKUR:

Six men, including three brothers, were killed in armed clashes following disputes over land in Khairpur and Shikarpur districts on Thursday.

Six armed men riding three motorcycles fired at Ali Sher Jagirani in his shop in Khuhra town’s main bazaar and fled. Jagirani and his nephew, Gulab Jagirani, were both killed. Members of their group retaliated by attacking Chori village, near Ripri, and shot and killed Yasin Jagirani. Ali Sher and Gulab’s bodies were sent to Gambat hospital for an autopsy, while Yasin’s body was sent to Civil Hospital, Khairpur. Locals claim the motive behind all three murders was an old dispute over land between two groups of the Jagiranis, which has so far claimed six lives. No case had been registered by the time this report was filed.

In the kachcha area of Shikarpur district, armed men shot and killed three brothers in what was reported to be a two-year-old dispute over land. The brothers, Wazir Ali Teghani Teghani, Nazir Ali Teghani and Wajhlo Teghani were working on their farm when a group of men opened fire, killed them and then fled when some villagers moved to retaliate.
