Dairy traders shot, Rs2.1m looted in brazen robbery

Two dairy traders were seriously injured when armed robbers opened fire on them after intercepting their motorcycle and snatched Rs2.1 million near Madina Mosque at the Razzaqabad.

Police said the brazen robbery took place within the jurisdiction of PS Shah Latif Town as the traders were collecting payments from milk shops. The suspects opened fire when the traders resisted the robbery and fled on a motorcycle with the stolen cash.

The injured were identified as 35-year-old Ghani Bakhsh and 50-year-old Zardari. Both sustained bullet wounds to their legs and near their armpits. They were shifted to a private hospital on Stadium Road and were said to be out of danger.

According to PS Shah Latif SHO Muhammad Ali Shah, the traders had collected around Rs2.1 million from Masha Allah Milk Shop in Abdullah Goth. The cash was being carried in two bags containing Rs1.35 million and Rs750,000.

The traders were travelling on a motorcycle when the suspects intercepted them, held them at gunpoint and snatched the cash. They opened fire when the victims put up resistance.
