Farmers trained for wheat season in Sahiwal

CHICHAWATNI:

The Sahiwal Agriculture Extension Department organised a training programme on Sunday to educate farmers on modern wheat production techniques for the 2026-27 season, emphasising certified seeds, mechanised sowing and timely cultivation to improve per-acre yield.

Assistant Director Dr Muhammad Aslam briefed participants on harvesting Kharif crops, including cotton, paddy and maize, and cultivating upcoming crops such as potatoes, mustard, canola and wheat.

He stressed crop diversification to improve farm incomes and advised growers to select crops according to soil condition, available resources and expected returns.
