GUJRAT:

Three members of the same family, including two siblings and their sister-in-law, died on Thursday after sustaining critical burn injuries in a gas leak-triggered kitchen fire that occurred on November 1 in Pind Aziz village near Sarai Alamgir.

According to details, gas leaked from a pipe connected to a cylinder and accumulated inside the kitchen.

The fire broke out when a family member lit the stove to heat milk, triggering an explosion that engulfed the kitchen in flames.

The victims were identified as 25-year-old Zaheen Zubair, 38-year-old Tasawwar Hussain and 35-year-old Saima Noreen. All three sustained severe burn injuries in the incident.

Zaheen suffered burns over almost his entire body and also sustained a fractured leg.

Tasawwar suffered extensive burns, while Saima sustained serious injuries to both her arms and legs.

Rescue officials reached the scene, provided initial medical assistance and shifted the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital in Jhelum due to their critical condition.
