LHC summons IGP over missing women
.

Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Aalia Neelum has summoned Punjab Inspector General of Police Rao Abdul Kareem in person over the failure to recover hundreds of missing women, questioning the appointment of a senior police officer to head the recovery team while allegedly remaining occupied with making social media videos.
The chief justice observed that an officer entrusted with such an important responsibility appeared to be preoccupied with other activities, questioning how he could ensure the recovery of missing women while remaining busy with social media.
The remarks came during the hearing of petitions seeking the recovery of Salma Bibi and her daughter, Maqdas Bibi.
The court directed the Punjab IG to appear in person on November 11 and submit a progress report on efforts to recover the missing women.
During the proceedings, the DIG Crime informed the court that 462 women were still missing. He added that four women reported missing in 2021 had also not been traced.
