Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, the 35-year-old son of actress Sofía Vergara, has seemingly addressed claims made by his mother’s ex-husband, Joe Manganiello, in an upcoming memoir.

On October 8, Manolo shared an Instagram Story featuring a chart comparing a “good man” with a “narcissistic man”. The graphic listed traits including “good men set boundaries / narcissistic men gaslight”.

He added the caption, “Remember kids, when dealing with a narcissist, it doesn't matter how much you do for them, because they will resent you for it and nothing will ever be enough, and they'll always somehow try to paint you as the bad guy 🍾💃.”

The following day, Vergara, 54, reposted her son’s Story. She also shared a post from Tom Brady that read, “The ability to laugh at oneself is probably the highest form of intelligence. The inability to laugh at oneself is a sure sign you're dealing with an idiot,” adding a clapping hands emoji.

The posts came after excerpts from Manganiello’s memoir, Bloodlines, due for release on October 13, were published earlier in the week.

According to People, the 49-year-old actor wrote that his autoimmune illness had affected his marriage to Vergara, describing their relationship as having “become devoid of any emotionality whatsoever”. He also reportedly claimed that Vergara denied him affection, even when he asked for it.

Manganiello and Vergara married in 2015 and divorced in 2024. The former couple have also offered different explanations for the end of their marriage.

Vergara previously told a Spanish newspaper that their marriage “broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids, and I didn't want to be an old mom. I feel it's not fair to the baby.”

However, Manganiello reportedly disputed that account in his memoir, saying he had “gave up” the idea of having children because of his illness.
