Tom Welling has hilarious response to viral hotel window photo mishap

Tom Welling jokes about viral NSFW hotel window photo after accidentally sharing a revealing image from New York City

Tom Welling has responded with humour after accidentally sharing a revealing photo of himself while attempting to capture the New York City skyline from his hotel room.

The Smallville star, 49, addressed the viral incident on October 10 by commenting on an Instagram Reel that joked about spotting him at his hotel window. The actor is in New York for New York Comic Con, where he is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the superhero series.

The Reel featured a tourist's perspective of the city, with on-screen text referencing the possibility of seeing Welling standing at his hotel window. Responding to the post, the actor wrote, “Came for the sights.”

The incident began on October 9, when Welling shared an Instagram Stories post featuring a photograph of the New York City skyline. He captioned the image “Hello NYCC”, but the picture also inadvertently revealed his reflection while he was taking the photograph nude. He later deleted the post.

Welling's Smallville co-star Michael Rosenbaum also joined in on the joke. Rosenbaum recreated the hotel window photo, posing in a T-shirt and boxers while holding a sign reading “perverts” over his lower body. He captioned the post, “Just looking after my boy.”

Welling reshared Rosenbaum's humorous tribute on his own Instagram Stories, appearing to take the teasing in good spirits.

During a New York Comic Con panel celebrating Smallville, Welling also recalled another embarrassing photo incident from the show's filming days. He said co-star John Glover once brought him a fan-edited image depicting him nude and asked him to sign it.

Rather than correcting Glover, Welling jokingly agreed that the image was real and signed it.

The actor's response to the viral hotel photo has added another humorous moment to his public appearances during the Smallville anniversary celebrations.
