George Clooney has spoken publicly about the death of Presley Gerber, son of model Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, describing the loss as devastating for his family.

The actor, 65, made his first public comments about Presley’s death while attending The Albies 2026 with his wife, Amal Clooney, in London on Friday, October 9.

"Quite honestly, it's one of the most devastating things that's happened to our family," George told Entertainment Tonight.

The actor acknowledged the grief facing Presley’s parents and younger sister, Kaia Gerber, 25, although he indicated that the loss remained too painful to discuss in detail.

George and Amal have a longstanding friendship with the Gerber family. In the days following Presley’s death, the couple were photographed visiting Kaia’s home in Los Angeles.

The families’ relationship extends beyond their personal lives. George and Rande co-founded Casamigos tequila in 2013 alongside businessman Mike Meldman.

The idea developed from time spent together in Mexico, where George and Rande owned neighbouring homes.

Presley died on September 20 at a treatment facility in Santa Monica, aged 27. Authorities have been investigating his death as a suspected overdose.

According to reporting published on October 9, his official cause of death remained deferred pending further investigation.

Born in 1999, Presley pursued a modelling career and signed with IMG Models as a teenager.

He made his runway debut for Moschino in Los Angeles in 2016 before working with fashion houses including Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry and Bottega Veneta. He also appeared in campaigns for Calvin Klein.

In June, Presley joined his parents at the We Are ENOUGH x Aviator Nation launch in Malibu, where he participated in a panel discussion.
