Khloe Kardashian has responded to criticism of an artificial intelligence sequence featured in the season eight premiere of The Kardashians, urging viewers to watch the clip in full before judging it.
The reality star addressed the backlash in an Instagram post on October 8, sharing a video of the scene and writing, “WATCH UNTIL THE END.” She added that it was “frustrating” to see people commenting after watching only the first few seconds.
The opening sequence features AI versions of Khloe, Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner and their mother, Kris Jenner. The digitally created family members appear in different locations around the world, including a yacht in the South of France, Japan, an African safari, Versailles and a ski chalet in Switzerland.
The AI versions eventually reunite in Calabasas after Kim receives a message from Kris asking everyone to return for the family’s premiere. Their appearances then begin to change in surreal ways, with Kourtney’s face turning into a thumb with a red nail and Kylie growing a tail.
The real Kardashian-Jenner family then enters the scene and confronts the digital versions. The AI Kris suggests that an artificial version of the show would be easier to film, but the real family insists it cannot be replaced. Kim says they do not need AI when they have their reality, while Khloe presses a “kill switch” to end the sequence.
The Kardashians’ AI scene has received mixed reactions online. Some viewers praised the concept, while others questioned why the family used AI to make a statement about not being replaceable by the technology. One commenter said they remained confused after watching the clip, while another described the sequence as clever.
Khloe has not provided further details about the criticism beyond her Instagram response.
