'Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir' is getting a live-action series from See-Saw Films and Miraculous Corp

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir is heading into live action for the first time, with See-Saw Films and Miraculous Corp developing a new television adaptation of the popular animated franchise.
The two Mediawan companies will co-produce the live-action Miraculous series, which is being designed for a broader and older audience while continuing to appeal to the franchise’s established fanbase.
Emme Hoy, who worked as a writer and executive producer on Sweetpea season 2 and has written episodes of the upcoming BBC espionage series Honey, will adapt the franchise for live action.
Created by Thomas Astruc, Jeremy Zag and Nathanaël Bronn, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir premiered in France in 2015. The series follows classmates Marinette and Adrien, who secretly transform into the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir to protect Paris while remaining unaware of each other’s identities.
The animated series is currently in its sixth season, with season 7 scheduled to launch in late 2026. It is distributed in more than 150 countries and is available on platforms including Disney+, Netflix and Disney Channel.
The Miraculous franchise has also expanded beyond television with a 2023 animated movie, gaming, consumer products, a stage musical and a manga adaptation. A new live stage show is scheduled to launch worldwide in 2027.
Maria Nicholson, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Simon Gillis and Ben Irving will executive produce for See-Saw Films, while Hoy will also executive produce. Nicky Earnshaw is attached as co-producer.
The live-action Miraculous series does not yet have a release date or announced cast.
