Travis Barker has revealed he underwent surgery after sharing photos from a hospital bed that prompted concern.

The Blink 182 drummer, 50, explained his hospital visit in an Instagram Stories update on October 7. Barker said his arm, hand and fingers had been numb since a show he played the previous month.

He said he underwent a nerve test on Monday after a show and learned that he needed a cubital tunnel release to address the nerve problem. The procedure is used to treat pressure on the ulnar nerve around the elbow, which can cause numbness and weakness in the hand.

Barker said he wanted to deal with the issue so he could continue playing drums for a long time. He offered an optimistic update on his recovery, saying he expected to be back to normal within a few weeks.

His update came one day after Barker shared hospital photos featuring his family. In one image, his daughter Alabama Barker was beside him, while another showed his wife Kourtney Kardashian supporting him at the hospital.

At the time, Barker did not explain why he was there, leaving fans waiting for further information. His later message clarified that the visit was connected to the nerve problem affecting his arm and hand.

Barker has previously faced other medical issues connected to his work and health. In 2023, he revealed that he had injured his ring finger during a rehearsal, dislocating it and tearing ligaments. He subsequently required surgery for the injury.

The procedure marks another setback for the musician, but his comments suggest he remains focused on returning to drumming. Barker has not indicated that the issue will affect any upcoming Blink 182 commitments.

His update reassured fans who had been concerned after seeing him in hospital clothing and preparing for surgery.
