Jack O’Connell and Odessa A’zion to play flat-Earthers in new Studiocanal film
Jack O’Connell and Odessa A’zion will star as flat-Earthers in 'The End of the World as We Know It' from Studiocanal

Jack O’Connell and Odessa A’zion are set to lead The End of the World as We Know It, a new feature from Ross White and Tom Berkeley, the Oscar-winning filmmakers behind An Irish Goodbye.
The film, produced by Studiocanal, Working Title, Parkville Pictures and Film4, will follow two lonely strangers who meet during an unusual pilgrimage to prove that the Earth is flat. Described as an “unlikely adventure in truth and love,” the project will be written and directed by Berkeley and White, with production scheduled to begin in Canada in November.
O’Connell, a BAFTA winner known for ’71 and Back to Black, will star alongside A’zion, who earned a BAFTA nomination and gained attention for Marty Supreme. The pair will play star-crossed loners brought together by their shared belief in the flat-Earth theory.
Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce for Working Title Films, while Olivier Kaempfer will produce for Parkville Pictures. Studiocanal is fully financing the film, with Film4 co-financing and executive producing. Studiocanal will distribute the movie theatrically across several territories, including the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Benelux, Australia and New Zealand, while also handling worldwide sales.
White and Berkeley previously made An Irish Goodbye, which starred Seamus O’Hara and James Martin. The short film became an awards-season success after screening at more than 60 international festivals and won the 2023 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film and the BAFTA for Best British Short Film.
O’Connell will next appear in A Quiet Place Part III and Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, while A’zion is set to star in Mother Courage and Fonda.
