Andrew Garfield calls Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire friendship ‘brotherhood’
Andrew Garfield says working with Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire on 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' created 'brotherhood'

Andrew Garfield has described his relationship with fellow Spider-Man actors Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire as a “brotherhood” following their shared appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Garfield discussed his friendship with Holland and Maguire during the September 29 episode of Good Hang with Amy Poehler, five years after the three actors appeared together as different versions of Spider-Man in the 2021 Marvel film.
“It's a brotherhood now, which is really, really great,” Garfield said. “Doing [the film] where we're all together really cemented some kind of weird brotherhood that was just beautiful.”
Garfield added that he had known Maguire “a little bit before” and described him as his “north star” because Maguire originated the film version of Spider-Man.
“And I loved what Tom's done,” Garfield continued. “And I think that was very healing for all of us to do that together and to feel less alone in that very, very weird singular experience to be a part of this character's legacy that maybe is arguably one of if not the most popular fictional character in the history of like modern fiction.”
Garfield played Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man and its 2014 sequel before returning to the character in No Way Home. Maguire portrayed Spider-Man in Sam Raimi’s trilogy, which began in the early 2000s.
Holland has played Peter Parker across multiple films, including the most recent entry, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which was released in July.
