Drew Afualo reveals wedding planning took a toll on her health

Drew Afualo has opened up about the stress she experienced while planning her August 2026 wedding to longtime partner Pili Tanuvasa, revealing that the pressure affected her physically.

The 31-year-old influencer married Tanuvasa in Hawaii after nine years together. Speaking to PEOPLE, Afualo said the preparations were stressful, particularly after major changes had to be made just weeks before the ceremony.

“I lost some hair and I developed eczema on my eyelids, but I did win in the end,” Afualo said while discussing the physical toll of wedding planning.

The couple faced a major setback four weeks before their wedding when Afualo said they had to replace both their wedding planner and venue. Despite the last-minute changes, she said the wedding day itself went smoothly without any major problems.

Afualo described the celebration as “wonderful” and said one of the most meaningful aspects was having her favourite people together in one place. She also highlighted the opportunity to employ Indigenous people for the wedding as an important part of the celebration.

With the wedding behind her, Afualo is now settling into married life with Tanuvasa. The influencer described being newlywed as “amazing” and said the relationship feels much the same despite entering a new chapter.

Afualo said she is particularly looking forward to continuing to grow alongside her partner during their first year of marriage.

The couple’s wedding followed a nine-year relationship, with the Hawaii ceremony marking a new stage in their lives together. Afualo has continued to share aspects of her personal life and career with her large online audience.
