Taylor Swift is reportedly taking criticism of her latest songs personally following mixed reactions to The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore.

According to a source cited by Star Magazine, Swift has been affected by negative reviews of the four-track expansion, particularly because of her reported sensitivity to criticism surrounding her music.

“Taylor is extremely sensitive to criticism,” the source said. “These songs are like her babies, so when people tear them apart, she can't help but take it very personally.”

The report follows criticism from some music publications and listeners. Vulture published a review titled “Taylor Swift Needs to Let the Showgirl Era Go”, while Pitchfork wrote that Swift's music had been “almost entirely drained of depth and meaning.”

One fan on X described “Cleveland!” as the “worst song she has ever put out in 20 years.”

The track, which is associated with Swift's husband Travis Kelce and his hometown, has received support from the NFL player and his brother Jason Kelce.

During the Sept. 30 episode of the New Heights podcast, Travis praised the song for highlighting Cleveland.

“Cleveland is rocking right now!” Travis said, per USA Today. “Shout out to Tay Tay for making that song, just giving the city a little more life.”

Jason also praised the track, saying, “Dude, that song is incredible. Kylie and I have been listening to it so much. There's just something about it that makes you feel real good. It's a great song.”

The Star source claimed Travis has also been supporting Swift as she responds to criticism of the new material.

“He keeps reminding her that she can't please everyone and she certainly doesn't need to prove herself at this point,” the source said.

The insider also claimed Travis is “completely obsessed” with “Cleveland!” and said he sings along to the song.

“He knows all the words and sings them at the top of his lungs, which puts a smile on her face,” the source stated.
