Nintendo reveals first themed Switch 2 for Zelda 40th Anniversary
Nintendo’s first themed Switch 2 celebrates Zelda’s 40th anniversary with console, Pro Controller and case

Nintendo has revealed its first fully redesigned special edition Switch 2 console, celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda.
The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 was announced during Nintendo’s Zelda-focused Direct on September 8.
The limited-edition console will launch on October 29, alongside a matching Switch 2 Pro Controller and carrying case.
Nintendo has released Switch 2 bundles since the console launched, but those packages have used the standard hardware alongside games. The Zelda edition is the first Switch 2 to feature custom colours and artwork across the console itself.
The special edition replaces the standard Joy-Con colours with teal controllers featuring Zelda-inspired patterns. Gold accents surround the analogue sticks, while the left Joy-Con includes a gold Triforce and additional Zelda detailing.
The rear of the console features a large gold and grey Triforce pattern, while the dock has a prominent gold Triforce design across its front.
A matching Pro Controller will also be released. It features black, teal and gold colours, a large Triforce on the front, gold shoulder buttons and additional Zelda artwork.
Nintendo is also releasing a Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition carrying case and screen protector with another Triforce design.
All three products are scheduled to launch on October 29, 2026. Nintendo has not announced pricing for the special edition Switch 2 or its accompanying accessories.
The console will arrive one week before The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launches on Switch 2 on November 5.
