New 'Street Fighter' trailer reveals Evil Ryu as he battles Satsui no Hado and faces Chun-Li

The new Street Fighter trailer offers a first look at Ryu’s darker transformation as he battles the Satsui no Hado ahead of the film’s October release.
The latest trailer for Street Fighter has revealed a closer look at Ryu’s struggle with the Satsui no Hado, while introducing new footage of several characters from the video game franchise.
Ryu, played by Andrew Koji, appears to be moving towards his darker Evil Ryu form as he battles Chun-Li. The trailer shows him charging a purple fireball while speaking about the “darkness growing” inside him.
Evil Ryu is a version of the character who has surrendered to the Satsui no Hado, also known as the “Surge of Murderous Intent”.
The power can push its users towards rage and destruction. Unlike Akuma, who embraces the force, Ryu attempts to maintain his strict warrior code.
The trailer also features Ryu and Ken, played by Noah Centineo, fighting in a dark alley. Ken tells Ryu that he has spent years living in his shadow and wants to win the World Warrior tournament.
The tournament is hosted by M. Bison, who has a hidden plan involving its strongest competitors. Chun-Li, played by Callina Liang, later tells Ryu that Ken is in danger and asks him to help.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter is set in 1993 and stars Koji as Ryu, Centineo as Ken and Liang as Chun-Li. The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 16, 2026.
