Rob and Michele Reiner’s son Jake Reiner marries longtime girlfriend

Jake Reiner has reportedly married Maria Gilfillan months after deaths of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner

Jake Reiner, the son of late filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, has reportedly married Maria Gilfillan.

According to TMZ, Jake and Gilfillan wed in a small ceremony at the beginning of August. The couple have not publicly shared details about their wedding, and it is unclear how long they had been together before getting married.

Jake was seen wearing a wedding ring earlier this month while speaking to Los Angeles television station KABC about the deaths of his parents, who were killed on December 14 last year.

Jake’s brother, Nick Reiner, has been charged with murdering their parents and has pleaded not guilty. He is currently in jail awaiting trial in connection with the double murder.

Speaking to KABC about the aftermath of his parents’ deaths, Jake described the difficulty of dealing with the loss.

"Nobody really understands what it's like to go through something like that until you're living it," Jake told the station.

"It's been eight months. It feels like eight years at the same time. And it also feels like eight minutes. Because every moment that I wake up, I'm reminded of my reality."

Jake had previously spoken about the impact of his parents’ deaths on his future wedding plans. In a Substack post published in April, he wrote about grieving the fact that they would not be present for the occasion.

"I was robbed of so many things that day," he wrote.

"My parents won't be at my wedding, they won't get to hold their future grandchild, and they won't get to see me have the successful career I'm still seeking. It simultaneously breaks my heart and enrages me."

Jake and Gilfillan have not publicly commented on the reported ceremony.
