.

The University of Karachi, the largest university in Sindh, is set to be placed under the supervision of a senior dean for its day-to-day affairs as the vice chancellor holding additional charge is scheduled to travel abroad.
The Vice Chancellor of the NED University of Engineering and Technology, Professor Dr Tufail Ahmed, who is also holding the additional charge of vice chancellor at the University of Karachi, will leave for South Korea next week on a five-day academic visit. He had sought permission from the Sindh government to travel abroad from September 1 to 5, which has been approved.
During his absence, NED University Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Nauman Ahmed will oversee the institution's day-to-day affairs as acting vice chancellor. At the University of Karachi, where Dr Tufail Ahmed is serving as vice chancellor on an additional-charge basis, the situation will move further towards an ad hoc arrangement during his absence. Professor Dr Haris Shoaib, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, will oversee the university's day-to-day affairs.
