Rick Ross has received a refund from Hermès after publicly criticising the luxury fashion brand over a delayed order for crocodile sandals reportedly worth about $12,000.

The Maybach Music Group founder visited a Hermès store in Miami’s Wynwood neighbourhood on August 26 and addressed the issue on camera. Ross said he had paid for the crocodile sandals more than a year earlier but had still not received them.

“Ricky Rozay bought crocodile sandals over a year ago from Hermès, and I still haven’t received them,” Ross said. He questioned the delay and said he wanted his money back, adding that he felt he was being taken advantage of.

Following Ross’s public complaint, Hermès issued him a refund. The development brings an end to the dispute between the rapper and the luxury brand over the undelivered footwear.

The incident comes amid wider scrutiny of Hermès’ customer practices and the company’s approach to its most exclusive products. Earlier reports in 2026 claimed that the brand considers factors including customers’ purchase histories, addresses and social media activity when assessing access to certain products.

Hermès also faced legal scrutiny in 2024 after two California shoppers filed a proposed class-action lawsuit against the company. The plaintiffs alleged that Hermès required customers to purchase other products, including shoes, scarves, jewellery and ready-to-wear items, before being given the opportunity to buy sought-after Birkin handbags.

The lawsuit described the alleged practice as a “tying strategy” and raised antitrust concerns. Hermès has faced continued attention over its selective sales practices, while Ross’s experience has brought renewed attention to customer service and delivery issues involving the luxury retailer.
