Disney has revealed a first look at Angel, Stitch’s love interest, in the upcoming live-action sequel Lilo & Stitch 2 during D23 in Anaheim, California.

The preview, presented on Friday, August 14, showed the pink alien with glowing antennae.

Angel, also known as Experiment 624, was first introduced in the 2003 animated series Lilo & Stitch: The Series.

The character has a unique ability to make reformed experiments return to their former evil ways, adding another connection to the wider Lilo & Stitch universe.

Maia Kealoha, who played Lilo in the 2025 live-action film, appeared onstage at D23 to introduce the sequel, while Stitch appeared on a screen for the audience.

"Wait, there's two of them?" Kealoha joked.

Lilo & Stitch 2 will be directed by Chris Sanders, who voiced Stitch and co-directed the original animated film.

The announcement follows the commercial success of the 2025 live-action adaptation, directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, which earned more than $1 billion at the global box office.

Disney announced the sequel one month after the 2025 film's release. The project had previously been discussed by Camp while he was promoting the first live-action instalment.

"If it was the right idea. I wouldn't do it just because there's a new market demand for it," Camp said. "But I also really like the idea of doing an animated spin-off as an episodic or limited series."

Lilo & Stitch 2 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on May 28, 2028.
