NCCIA, Interpol, Singapore Police dismantle cybercrime network

LAHORE:

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), in a joint operation with Interpol and the Singapore Police Force, has dismantled an international cybercrime network allegedly involved in targeting victims in Pakistan, Singapore and several other countries.

According to the NCCIA, two key operatives of the network were arrested during coordinated raids in Islamabad.

Authorities also recovered digital devices and other electronic evidence believed to be linked to the group's activities.

Investigators said the suspects allegedly supplied phishing software and sophisticated cyber tools to international criminal groups.

The network is believed to have used fake identities and encrypted communication platforms to facilitate cybercrime across multiple jurisdictions.

The agency further alleged that members of the network impersonated Singapore police officers to deceive citizens and carry out financial and online fraud.

The intelligence-based operation was conducted under the leadership of NCCIA Director General Syed Khurram Ali Shah, while the raids were supervised by Punjab Director Muhammad Ali Waseem.
