Shawn Mendes confirms relationship with Bruna Marquezine in heartfelt birthday tribute

Shawn Mendes has publicly confirmed his relationship with actress and model Bruna Marquezine by sharing a heartfelt birthday tribute celebrating her 31st birthday.

The Grammy-nominated singer posted the message on Instagram on August 4, marking the first time he has publicly acknowledged their relationship after months of speculation.

"Feliz aniversário my baby," Mendes began in the caption.

"You are a light and a mãe in every room you walk into. Not to be tooooo sappy but you've truly changed my life, and I am so so grateful for you."

He continued the tribute in Portuguese, writing: "Eu te amo muito muito muitoo," which translates to "I love you so, so, so much". He concluded the message by adding, "We all do amor…"

Rumours linking Mendes and Marquezine first emerged in December 2025. Since then, the pair have been photographed together on several occasions in both Brazil and the United States, although neither had publicly confirmed the relationship until now.

Before dating Marquezine, Mendes was in an on-and-off relationship with singer Camila Cabello between 2019 and 2023. He was also publicly linked to Sabrina Carpenter in early 2023.

In October 2024, Mendes spoke about his approach to relationships during a concert in Colorado, saying he wanted to remove the pressure of searching for "The One."

"When you're single, there's this pressure of looking for 'The One,' who's 'The One?'... Damn, that's a lot of pressure to put on someone when you first start dating," he told fans.

"For me, I've just been trying to take that pressure off of whoever, and just allow myself to experience the love that is happening in that moment, wherever and however that's happening. Man, we all need a little bit of cuddling, a little bit of hugging," he added.
