Scott Eastwood reveals lesson from Clint Eastwood's clash with Kevin Costner

Scott Eastwood has revealed the valuable lesson he learned after witnessing an on-set clash between his father, Clint Eastwood, and Kevin Costner during the making of the 1993 film A Perfect World, saying it shaped his own approach to professionalism in Hollywood.

Appearing on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, Scott recalled that Costner was at the height of his fame when he allegedly refused to leave his trailer for filming. Clint, who was directing and co-starring in the film, reportedly responded by telling the crew: "Send him home." According to Scott, the decision made it clear that no actor was bigger than the production.

Scott said his father believed in leading by example and was always present on set rather than spending long periods in his trailer. The actor explained that watching Clint's calm but firm handling of the situation taught him the importance of respecting the crew and showing up ready to work every day.

Although Scott did not criticise Costner directly, he suggested the incident happened during a period when the Oscar-winning actor's fame was rapidly growing. He added that the experience reinforced his belief that success should never come at the expense of humility or professionalism.

Scott has frequently credited his father with shaping his work ethic throughout his career. Having appeared in several of Clint Eastwood's films, including Gran Torino and Invictus, he said the biggest lesson he learned was that every member of a film set deserves equal respect, regardless of their status.
