Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi on Tuesday expressed grave concern over the deteriorating situation in Palestine, particularly the ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

During a telephone conversation, the two leaders discussed intensified air strikes, continued ground operations and escalating settler violence targeting Palestinians, according to the Foreign Office.

Both sides strongly condemned repeated incursions by Israeli settlers and far-right groups into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem, as well as restrictions placed on Palestinian worshippers.

They stressed that such actions violated the sanctity of the holy site, heightened tensions and undermined prospects for regional peace.

The two foreign ministers also discussed Jordan’s proposal to convene a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries to assess the evolving situation and coordinate diplomatic efforts and responses.

Safadi appreciated Pakistan’s role and efforts towards promoting regional peace and stability, expressing hope for positive outcomes from ongoing diplomatic initiatives.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s “unwavering support” for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to a just, lasting and comprehensive peace through the implementation of the two-state solution.

He called for the establishment of an independent, contiguous and viable Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

Ijaz | 3 weeks ago | Reply Why both we and Jordanian minister shedding crocodile tears for Palestine. We both are aware West Bank PLA authority has no issues and are living almost peacefully with minimal interference from Israel and not involved in any war with Israel. Gaza is another story. It is not West Bank and not controlled by Arab friendly and supported PLA but by Hamas supported by Iran which still keeps its population hostage and caused over seventy thousand dead because of Hamas and its supporter Iran by picking a fight with Israel. Egypt sealed its borders so that Gaza s could not escape to Egypt and let them die. Both Jordan and Egypt have embassies in Israel and daily flights and functioning borders and openly talk to each other on issues. No one wants Gaza and its people so why this talks even . The fault lies in us that we are divided and differentiate between our Muslim brothers on political grounds and supporting countries.
