AnnaSophia Robb has officially joined the cast of Supermax, the upcoming action thriller starring Will Smith.

The film, produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax, will be directed by David Gordon Green and is set for a global release on Prime Video.

According to reports, Robb will play the young detective partner to Smith’s character as the pair investigate a mysterious murder inside a high-security supermax prison. The thriller follows the two detectives as they navigate one of the world’s most dangerous prison environments while uncovering the truth behind the deadly case.

Amazon MGM Studios secured worldwide distribution rights for Supermax earlier this year, with the film expected to stream in more than 240 countries and territories on Prime Video.

The screenplay is written by David Weil and David J. Rosen, known for their work on the television series Hunters and Invasion. The film is produced by Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman for The Picture Company alongside Will Smith and Adam Fishbach for Westbrook. Several Miramax executives will also serve as executive producers.

Robb joins the project following a busy year in Hollywood. She is set to star in I Play Rocky, Peter Farrelly’s biographical drama exploring the making of the 1976 boxing classic Rocky. The film is expected to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and has already generated early awards-season attention. Robb will also appear in the second season of Prime Video’s comedy series Overcompensating.

Known for standout performances in Bridge to Terabithia, Soul Surfer, The Carrie Diaries and Little Fires Everywhere, Robb continues to expand her film career with Supermax, one of Amazon MGM’s most anticipated action releases.
