The reported special has not been officially confirmed by Crave, HBO Max, or the series creators. However, speculation surrounding additional Heated Rivalry content has continued to grow following the show’s breakout success and strong fan demand.

Based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers book series, Heated Rivalry follows hockey rivals Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, whose intense competition develops into a complicated romantic relationship. The series became a major hit after launching on Crave and later reaching international audiences through HBO Max.

A second season of Heated Rivalry is already in development, with creator Jacob Tierney confirming that the team is working on new episodes. Production is expected to begin in 2026, with the next season targeting a 2027 release.
