Ryan Reynolds confirms another 'Deadpool' movie is coming: 'There's a few really deep cuts missing'

Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that another Deadpool movie will happen, revealing that he already has ideas for Wade Wilson's next adventure and wants to explore lesser-known stories from the Marvel comics.

Speaking during a panel at Fanatics Fest in New York, Reynolds reassured fans that Deadpool will return, even if the next instalment is still some way off.

"There will eventually be another Deadpool movie," Reynolds said. "There's a few really deep cuts that I think are missing."

While the actor stopped short of announcing a production timeline or release date, his comments mark the clearest confirmation yet that Marvel's Merc with a Mouth will headline another film following the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine.

Reynolds did not reveal which comic storylines he hopes to adapt, but he suggested that the next film could draw inspiration from lesser-known parts of Deadpool's comic-book history rather than repeating familiar ground.

Earlier this year, Reynolds revealed he had been writing ideas for the character's future, explaining that he envisioned Wade Wilson taking on more of a supporting role alongside other Marvel heroes rather than carrying every story himself. However, his latest remarks indicate that another standalone Deadpool adventure remains firmly on the table.

The actor is also expected to reprise the role in Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday, although he has remained characteristically tight-lipped about how Deadpool fits into the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Released in 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine reunited Reynolds with Hugh Jackman and became one of Marvel Studios' biggest box office successes, earning more than $1.3 billion worldwide while cementing Deadpool's place in the MCU.

For now, Reynolds has offered little beyond the promise that Wade Wilson's story is far from over. But for fans eager to see the wisecracking antihero return, his message was simple: another Deadpool film is coming, eventually.
