BLACKPINK member Jennie has once again sparked speculation about her next solo release after sharing a cryptic message on Instagram, prompting fans to believe her unreleased song “Less Than A Lover” could be arriving soon.
The K-pop star posted a short line through her Instagram broadcast channel on July 19, writing, “The summer I chose to pause the love story.” Although Jennie did not mention a song title or provide any additional details, fans quickly linked the message to “Less Than A Lover,” an unreleased track she has been teasing during recent festival performances.
Interest in “Less Than A Lover” has continued to grow since Jennie first performed the song at Governors Ball in New York in June. She later included it in her headline performances at Roskilde Festival and Open’er Festival, where she also debuted unreleased tracks “Lock It Down” and “Heaven.”
During her performance at Open’er Festival, Jennie hinted that more music is on the way, telling fans she could not wait to share her new songs “very soon,” though she stopped short of announcing an official release date.
Jennie’s European festival appearances have marked several career milestones, including becoming the first K-pop artist to headline Open’er Festival and the first Korean solo performer to top the Roskilde Festival lineup. Alongside new material, she also performed fan favourites from her 2025 solo album Ruby, including “Mantra,” “Love Hangover,” “ExtraL,” “Starlight,” and “Like JENNIE.”
