Pipeline repair dispute disrupts water supply for five months
.

A dispute between the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) and the Karachi Water and Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP) over responsibility for replacing a damaged water pipeline has left several areas of the city facing severe water shortages for the past five months.
The 33-inch pipeline was damaged during K-IV augmentation works near Nipa Chowrangi beneath the flyover. Although temporary repairs were initially carried out, officials say a 200-foot section of the pipeline has been extensively damaged and requires complete replacement. However, work has remained stalled as neither KWSC nor KWSSIP has accepted responsibility for replacing the damaged section.
