Campus officer shot, injured in gun attack

KARACHI:

A campus officer of the Federal Urdu University was seriously injured after unidentified assailants opened fire on him in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Wednesday, police said.

The shooting occurred near Aziz Bhatti Park on Nizarat Road, where the victim, identified as 42-year-old Adnan Akhtar, was riding his motorcycle to work when he was targeted by gunmen on another motorcycle.

According to SHO Aziz Bhatti Inspector Ansar Butt, the attackers approached from behind and fired four shots, leaving the victim critically injured before fleeing the scene.

An Edhi ambulance shifted the injured to a private hospital on Stadium Road, where doctors later declared him out of danger.

Police said the suspects were wearing helmets and masks, complicating efforts to identify them.
