Massachusetts honours Noah Kahan with official day celebrating his New England roots

Noah Kahan has received one of the biggest honours of his career after Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey officially declared July 11, 2026 as "Noah Kahan Day" in recognition of the singer-songwriter's impact on New England and his sold-out run of concerts at Boston's Fenway Park.

The proclamation was announced as Kahan concluded a series of sold-out performances at the historic ballpark as part of his The Great Divide Tour, which drew more than 150,000 fans across four nights.

In the official declaration, Healey praised the Vermont native for capturing the spirit of the region through his music.

"Noah Kahan has emerged as one of New England's defining artists, writing songs that capture the people, places, and experiences that shape life across the region," the proclamation stated.

Kahan reacted to the surprise honour on his Instagram Story, expressing his gratitude to fans and the city of Boston.

"So insane. Thank you so much to this entire city for the last few days," he wrote.

The recognition marks another milestone for the "Stick Season" singer, whose deeply personal songwriting has earned him a devoted following while celebrating the landscapes, communities and emotions associated with life in New England.

Kahan's return to Fenway Park carried particular significance. The venue has become closely associated with his career after he previously sold out multiple shows there in 2024, later releasing the live album Live From Fenway Park. His 2026 concerts continued that tradition while supporting his latest album, The Great Divide.

The singer's latest run also generated headlines beyond the music. During one of the Fenway performances, Kahan jokingly apologised to Connecticut after making a playful dig at the state, later clarifying on social media that the remark was part of a long-running family joke.

By declaring Noah Kahan Day, Massachusetts joins a growing list of places recognising the singer's cultural impact and connection to the region.
