Did Armie Hammer break down in tears after seeing his comeback film?

Armie Hammer was reportedly left in tears after watching Citizen Vigilante, calling the final cut 'hateful'

Armie Hammer has reportedly reacted negatively to the final version of his comeback film Citizen Vigilante, with a source claiming the actor was left emotional after watching the completed project.

The film, directed by Uwe Boll, marks Hammer's return to acting following several years away from Hollywood after allegations of sexual misconduct significantly impacted his career.

According to Puck, citing a source familiar with the situation, Hammer had hoped Citizen Vigilante would help relaunch his acting career but was reportedly disappointed by the finished film. The source alleged that the actor was moved to tears after watching the final cut, claiming he described it as "hateful" and said it was not the movie he believed he had made. TMZ also reported on the source's claims, including the alleged remarks attributed to Hammer.

The same source further claimed that Hammer is now searching for another project that could better support his return to the entertainment industry. Despite his reported disappointment, the insider alleged that the actor could consider returning for a Citizen Vigilante sequel if the financial offer were substantial enough.

Hammer's career came to a halt in 2021 after multiple women accused him of misconduct and shared alleged messages containing disturbing sexual fantasies. Hammer has consistently denied wrongdoing. In 2023, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced it would not file criminal charges, stating there was insufficient evidence to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.

The controversy resulted in Hammer being dropped from several film projects and by his representation, forcing him away from mainstream Hollywood productions. Citizen Vigilante represents one of his first major acting roles since the allegations surfaced, making the film a closely watched chapter in his attempted professional comeback.

Neither Hammer, Uwe Boll nor the filmmakers have publicly commented on the reported claims regarding his reaction to the completed film.
