Trader murdered, woman strangled in separate cases
Police register murder cases, launch raids to arrest nominated suspects

Two people were killed in separate incidents in Faisalabad, including a woman allegedly murdered by her husband following a domestic dispute and a businessman shot dead over a financial disagreement.
Police said 45-year-old Muhammad Ashfaq, a trader from Chak 200-RB Lathianwala in the jurisdiction of Khurrianwala police station, was allegedly shot by suspects led by Umar Hayat after demanding repayment of money owed to him.
The dispute reportedly escalated into a heated argument, during which the suspects opened fire.
Ashfaq sustained multiple bullet wounds to his arms, ribs and abdomen and was rushed to Allied Hospital in critical condition.
He succumbed to his injuries after battling for life for several hours.
DSP Rana Mazharul Haq and SHO Khurrianwala reached the scene and initiated an investigation.
Police registered a murder case against the nominated suspects on the complaint of Qurban Ali and launched raids to arrest them.
In a separate incident in the Lakshmi Chowk area of Chak 263-RB on Samundri Road, a woman identified as Samaika was allegedly strangled to death by her husband, Owais, following a domestic dispute. Police said the couple had contracted a love marriage around 18 months ago and were living in a rented house in Dijkot.
Investigators said frequent quarrels between the husband and wife had been reported. During the latest altercation, Owais allegedly strangled his wife, causing her death.
The victim's body was taken into custody and handed over to her family after legal formalities.
Police registered a case on the complaint of the deceased woman's father, Zahid Javed, and launched a search operation to arrest the suspect, who fled after the incident.
