Red Dead Redemption 2 actor confirms role in GTA 6 ahead of release
A voice actor from Red Dead Redemption 2 has confirmed he will appear in Grand Theft Auto VI, marking one of the first confirmed cast connections ahead of the game’s release.
The actor, Jim Santangeli, known for voicing Simon Pearson in Red Dead Redemption 2, addressed the appearance during a TikTok livestream when asked by viewers whether he was involved in GTA 6.
During the stream, a viewer asked, “wait, so you’re gonna do a small thing in GTA 6? That’s cool.” Santangeli responded, “Yeah, Zane. Little small bit,” indicating his involvement in the project while describing the role as limited in scope.
He also referenced his familiarity with the franchise, noting that he had previously played Grand Theft Auto “Miami,” widely understood to refer to Vice City, a location within earlier entries of the series.
The interaction was later shared on Reddit by a user who claimed to have joined the livestream as the discussion was already underway.
They stated, “So I joined his TikTok live randomly, and as I joined, he was talking his GTA VI small role he’s worked on. Interested, I asked a message for him to clarify it and this is what I got back.”
The user also added: “I wasn’t able to clip the previous footage, but what I recall was. ‘I’ve done some cool stuff in GTA VI, but small.’”
While the exact nature of the role has not been confirmed, the description suggests a minor character appearance, with speculation online pointing to a potential non-playable character role.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled for release on November 19 2026, with Rockstar Games continuing to keep most casting details unconfirmed.
Marketing activity is expected to increase in the months leading up to launch, including further promotional material and pre-order announcements.

This wouldn’t be surprising since Rockstar is known for rehiring actors they worked with before (Lucia’s actor voiced a character in GTA Online).
