Robert Pattinson discusses training for 'The Batman Part II', responding to fitness criticism
Robert Pattinson addresses fitness comments, sharing 11-week night shoot for 'The Batman Part II' and training routine

Robert Pattinson has responded to criticism of his physical preparation for The Batman, stating in a new interview that he trained extensively ahead of reprising the role of Bruce Wayne in The Batman Part II.
Speaking to GQ magazine as part of its summer cover story, Pattinson addressed comments suggesting he had not trained sufficiently for the 2022 film.
He said, “I worked out every fucking day,” adding that he maintained a demanding fitness routine while preparing for the role.
He further stated, “Even after that, I still look like I didn’t work out,” explaining that his comments in earlier interviews may have contributed to perceptions about his training.
The actor revealed he has now taken additional steps ahead of the sequel, including installing a home gym to prepare for filming. Pattinson is set to return in director Matt Reeves’ upcoming follow-up, The Batman Part II, which continues the story established in the 2022 release.
He also discussed early information he had received about the production schedule, saying, “I just heard from the stunt guy the other day. He said, ‘Ooh, 11 weeks of nights.’ I’m like, ‘Excuse me?’ I’m like, ‘No one’s even sent me a schedule.’”
The Batman Part II is expected to continue production under Reeves’ direction, with Pattinson reprising the role of the DC Comics character.
The actor also reflected on the physical demands of recent projects, including filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which he described as one of the most exhausting productions he has worked on.
Pattinson noted that filming conditions on The Odyssey involved challenging travel between locations and long shooting days, contributing to what he described as an intense production experience.
The Batman Part II remains in development, with further production details yet to be officially confirmed.
