François Arnaud teases bigger Scott and Kip story in 'Heated Rivalry' season 2

Season 2 will adapt 'The Long Game', following Shane and Ilya as they navigate life together after becoming a couple

Heated Rivalry star François Arnaud has hinted that fans will see much more of Scott Hunter and Kip Grady in the show's second season, teasing that the beloved couple's story is far from over as production gets underway.

Speaking about the upcoming season, Arnaud confirmed there is "definitely more of Scott and Kip", delighting fans of the pairing, affectionately known as "Skip". While he stopped short of revealing specific plot details, his comments suggest the series will continue expanding beyond Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov's central romance.

Scott and Kip became fan favourites during the first season after Scott publicly came out as gay and declared his love for Kip, providing a hopeful parallel to Shane and Ilya's secret relationship. In Rachel Reid's Game Changers novels, the couple's story continues in later books, with Common Goal including a major milestone in their relationship that many fans hope will be adapted.

Season 2 will primarily adapt The Long Game, following Shane and Ilya as they navigate life together after finally becoming a couple. Creator Jacob Tierney has previously said the new episodes will take a more emotionally mature approach while continuing to broaden the world of the series through its supporting characters.

Filming on the new season has now begun, with Heated Rivalry expected to return in spring 2027. Alongside the return of Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie as Shane and Ilya, Arnaud's latest tease suggests Scott and Kip will once again play a significant role in the acclaimed hockey romance.
