After years of uncertainty, Coyote vs. ACME is finally heading to cinemas, and the film's latest promotional campaign is embracing its unlikely comeback story with a playful nod to Marvel's blockbuster marketing.

Ketchup Entertainment recently released a teaser for the long-delayed Looney Tunes film that parodies the style of Avengers: Doomsday. The teaser ends with the message "Bugs Bunny will return," a tongue-in-cheek reference to Marvel's tradition of teasing future appearances by major characters after a film's conclusion.

The release marks another milestone for a project that faced an uncertain future after Warner Bros. Discovery shelved the completed film in 2023 as part of a cost-cutting strategy. The decision sparked widespread criticism from filmmakers, fans and industry figures. Following the backlash, the studio allowed the filmmakers to seek a new distributor, eventually leading to Ketchup Entertainment acquiring the rights in 2025.

Directed by Dave Green and written by Samy Burch, Coyote vs. ACME combines live-action and animation as Wile E. Coyote takes legal action against the ACME Corporation over its famously unreliable products. The cast includes Will Forte, Lana Condor, John Cena, P.J. Byrne, Tone Bell, Martha Kelly and Luis Guzmán.

The film also features several iconic Looney Tunes characters, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety and Foghorn Leghorn. According to promotional materials, Bugs Bunny plays a key supporting role, assisting Forte's character during the legal battle.

The latest trailer continues the film's self-aware humour, even joking that the movie is being released "for accounting purposes only," a clear reference to its highly publicised cancellation controversy.

Coyote vs. ACME is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on August 28, 2026.
