Actor Arsalan Naseer took to his social media to criticise the growing trend of showing off wealth on Eidul Azha, calling out people displaying larger sacrificial goats as a status symbol — a comment that drew mixed reactions online.
Naseer shared a statement on his Instagram story, writing, “It’s unfortunate to see this Eid becoming a display of wealth and status. Many will sacrifice an animal, but only a few will sacrifice their pride.”
One user supported Naseer’s point, noting that many families cannot even afford to offer a sacrifice this year due to inflation.
Another criticised the actor for being judgemental, saying, “Rather than judging others, I guess people should focus on them first. There’s no need to judge someone’s intentions.”
Naseer is a popular actor, writer, and internet personality known for both comedic and romantic roles. He made his television debut in the 2021 Ramadan drama Chupke Chupke.
