‘Lucifer’ actress Tricia Helfer joins OnlyFans at 52 says it ‘gives her full control after years in Hollywood’
The actress said fan support surprised her as she plans to donate part of her earnings to animal charities too

Tricia Helfer has become the latest Hollywood actress to join OnlyFans, with the Battlestar Galactica and Lucifer star saying the move is about freedom, creativity and taking control of her image.
Speaking in a recent interview with People, the 52 year old actress explained that she decided to launch her page after reaching what she described as a “do what I want” stage in her life. Helfer said she no longer feels interested in following expectations placed on women in entertainment, particularly as they grow older.
“At my age, I am in my ‘do what I want’ phase of life,” Helfer said. “I’m tired of being told what to do and how to do it.”
The actress revealed that her OnlyFans account, which quietly launched in April, will feature what she called “the sexier side” of her personality while also showing fans glimpses of her quieter and more humorous personal life. Helfer stressed that the platform gives her complete control over the content she chooses to share.
She acknowledged that some people close to her expressed concern about the decision, especially because of the stigma still attached to OnlyFans. However, Helfer insisted that she feels comfortable with the choice and remains fully in charge of her boundaries.
“I’m not being pushed into anything,” she explained, adding that she can stop using the platform whenever she chooses.
Helfer also said the response from supporters has been more positive than she expected. Since announcing the account, fans across social media have praised the actress for openly embracing confidence and independence later in life.
The Canadian actress first rose to fame in the early 2000s after transitioning from modelling into television acting. Before acting, she worked with major fashion houses including Chanel, Versace and Ralph Lauren. Her breakthrough role arrived when she played Number Six in the critically acclaimed science fiction series Battlestar Galactica, which developed a devoted cult following.
She later appeared in Lucifer as God’s wife and also held recurring roles in series including Two and a Half Men.
Helfer joins a growing number of actresses and television personalities turning to subscription based platforms to connect directly with audiences outside traditional Hollywood systems. Recent celebrity arrivals on OnlyFans include Shannon Elizabeth and Jaime Pressly, both of whom described the platform as a way to control their own content and fan engagement.
Unlike some creators using the service primarily for explicit material, Helfer indicated her focus is more about expression, confidence and independence. She also revealed that part of the money earned through the platform will be donated to animal charities, continuing philanthropic work she has supported for decades.
“If I have any success with OnlyFans, then it will actually help me be able to donate more money than I already do,” she said.
