Students to enjoy historic summer break
Murree schools exempted from extended summer closure due to cooler weather

Schoolchildren across Punjab are set for an extended summer break after the provincial Education Department announced what is being described as the longest summer vacation in the province's history.
A formal notification has been issued declaring 93 days of summer holidays for all public and private schools and colleges across Punjab, including the Rawalpindi Division.
Under the schedule, educational institutions will remain closed from May 22 until August 23, and will reopen across the province on August 24.
However, the hill stations of Murree and Kotli Sattian - two cooler mountainous tehsils within the Rawalpindi Division - will be exempt from the extended closure, with schools there remaining operational. Institutions in Murree and Kotli Sattian will instead observe 21 days of summer holidays during June.
On Thursday, students were issued summer holiday assignments before the commencement of the break. With the holidays beginning, many children have already started making plans to spend time with their grandparents during the Eid period.
Despite the prolonged closure, students will still be required to pay monthly tuition fees regularly throughout the three-month break.
