ISLAMABAD:

The Institute of Home Economics, Art and Design, Islamabad transformed into a radiant canvas of imagination, artistry, and innovation during the Final Project Fashion Showcase of the Department of Art & Design.

The event unfolded as a celebration of creativity, where artistic dreams took shape and ideas blossomed into breathtaking expressions of wearable art.

Parents, faculty members, distinguished guests, and admirers of design gathered to witness an occasion woven with elegance, vision, and youthful brilliance. The showcase beautifully brought together projects developed under Editorial Design, Graphic Communication, Textile Designing & Printing Methods, and Computer-Aided Textile & Apparel Design, where students skillfully merged storytelling with aesthetics, tradition with technology, and imagination with technical mastery.

Every ensemble graced the runway as a visual narrative—alive with texture, meaning, and artistic depth. Adding immense prestige and grace to the occasion was the esteemed chief guest, Nausheen Sharaf, the visionary force behind Hunar by Nausheen. Renowned for transforming heritage craftsmanship into timeless luxury, her inspiring presence illuminated the event and celebrated the spirit of creativity and entrepreneurship.

A highlight of the showcase was the Textile Designing and Printing Methods II exhibition by the final semester students, where imagination unfolded through meticulously researched themes, handcrafted mood boards, intricate textile compositions, and digitally crafted designs enhanced through CAD and Adobe Illustrator.

Collections such as Bloom and Grace, Vintage, Vibrant Motifs, Dreams and Illusions, Crimson Melody, Persian Calligraphy, and Mixed Heritage and British Colonialism painted the runway with romance, nostalgia, cultural dialogue, passion, and poetic storytelling—each design echoing originality and refined craftsmanship.

The runway further came alive through compelling theme-based costume presentations developed under Computer-Aided Textile and Apparel Design, where fashion transcended fabric to become a voice for emotion, awareness, fantasy, and global consciousness. Themes including domestic violence, climate change, mental health and Light Up the Future transformed the catwalk into a moving tapestry of resilience, imagination, identity, and hope, leaving the audience both inspired and reflective.
