Kacey Musgraves is facing online backlash after the launch of her new Walmart clothing collaboration sparked criticism over limited inclusive sizing, followed by what some fans are calling a “rude” response from the singer.

The Kacey Lee collection, created in partnership with denim brand Lee, features more than 100 items including women’s and men’s apparel, swimwear, and accessories. While the line was promoted as affordable and Western-inspired, shoppers quickly raised concerns about the lack of extended sizing, with most pieces reportedly capping at XXL and size 18.

Musgraves responded directly in the comments of a viral video addressing the issue, writing: “Hiii not in my control at all. Sorry you’re disappointed. Hope this helps!” along with a pink heart emoji. While some fans appreciated the acknowledgment, others interpreted the tone of the reply as dismissive, sparking further debate online about how celebrities engage with criticism.

One user wrote that the phrasing “hope this helps” felt “lacking empathy,” while others defended Musgraves, suggesting she may not have been responsible for production or sizing decisions.

Despite the controversy, Musgraves has been actively promoting the collection, including a surprise appearance at a Walmart store in Tennessee, where she met fans and celebrated the launch. The singer has said the collaboration is personally meaningful, noting that denim and Western-inspired fashion have long been part of her identity.

The Kacey Lee launch comes alongside her new album Middle of Nowhere and a forthcoming U.S. tour, marking a busy period in her music and fashion career.
