Rhea Seehorn joins Apple Studios’ Running, a Gavin O’Connor film starring Brian Tyree Henry and Spike Fearn

Actress Rhea Seehorn has officially joined the cast of Running, a new feature film from director Gavin O’Connor and writer Bill Dubuque, produced by Apple Studios in collaboration with Makeready and Nike Films.

The film is based on an original story by O’Connor and Dubuque and follows a homeless high school running prodigy who uses his athletic talent to escape his past and search for a sense of belonging. The project is described as an underdog story focused on resilience, survival, and the human desire for connection.

Seehorn joins previously announced cast members Spike Fearn and Brian Tyree Henry, expanding an ensemble led by emerging and established talent.

Director Gavin O’Connor has previously said the film originated from his idea of exploring a character who has “no love, no friends, no family,” surviving alone on the streets before finding purpose through running.

Seehorn’s casting adds another high-profile role to her recent slate of projects. She currently stars in the Apple TV series Pluribus, where her performance has earned critical acclaim, including Critics’ Choice and Golden Globe recognition. The series is also reported to be one of Apple TV’s most-watched titles.

She is widely known for her breakout role as Kim Wexler in AMC’s Better Call Saul, which earned her two Primetime Emmy nominations. Her television credits also include Veep, The Act, and The Twilight Zone, along with producing work on Cooper’s Bar.

On the film side, Seehorn most recently appeared in the psychological thriller Sender, which premiered at SXSW earlier this year.

Running continues development at Apple Studios, with production details and release timing yet to be announced.
