Jacksepticeye surprises Maya Higa with a $100K donation to Alveus Animal Sanctuary, leaving her emotional on stream

Twitch streamer Maya Higa was left in tears after YouTube creator Jacksepticeye surprised her with a $100,000 donation to the Alveus Animal Sanctuary during a livestream visit on May 19, 2026.
The emotional moment unfolded during McLoughlin’s guest appearance on Higa’s Twitch channel, where he toured the sanctuary and interacted with several of its animal ambassadors, including Georgie the African bullfrog, Stompy the emu, and Kasi the serval. The stream drew thousands of live viewers as the pair showcased the work being done at the wildlife rehabilitation centre.
Midway through the broadcast, Jacksepticeye revealed his intention to make a major contribution, announcing a $100,000 donation to support the sanctuary’s ongoing operations and animal care programs. The unexpected reveal visibly shocked Higa, who initially believed he was joking.

“You’re serious?” she asked repeatedly as McLoughlin confirmed the donation was genuine and planned as a surprise. He explained that he was inspired by visiting Alveus in person and praised the organization’s mission of wildlife education and rehabilitation.
The moment quickly turned emotional, with Higa breaking down in tears and embracing McLoughlin as viewers flooded the chat with celebratory reactions and emotes.
Jacksepticeye also referenced his long-running charity efforts, including his annual “Thankmas” livestream series, which has raised millions for various causes over the years.
This is not the first major fundraising milestone for Alveus Animal Sanctuary. Earlier in the year, Twitch streamer Emiru contributed $30,000 during a charity auction, further boosting support for the sanctuary’s growing initiatives.
Alveus continues to gain attention within the streaming community, with Higa recently making history as the first Twitch creator to deliver a TED Talk, highlighting the platform’s growing influence in philanthropy and education.
