IHC to take up FDE chief appointment case
.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear an important case on May 21 regarding the delay in appointment of the Director General of the Federal Directorate of Education despite nomination by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC).
Justice Arbab Mohammad Tahir of the Islamabad High Court will hear the case filed by Javed Iqbal Mirza.
During the previous hearing, the court had issued notices to the Ministry of Education and other respondents and sought detailed replies.
According to sources, the important post of Director General of the Federal Directorate of Education has remained vacant for the last three years and the affairs of 432 institutions are being run on an ad hoc basis.
Available documents show that after conducting tests and interviews, the FPSC on March 4, 2026 recommended the appointment of Director Admin Javed Iqbal Mirza as DG (BS-21) of the Federal Directorate of Education.
However, the Ministry of Education has yet to finalise the process. Before issuing the notification, the ministry will send a summary to the federal government for approval.
Sources said the summary regarding Mirza's appointment has not yet been sent to the prime minister.
