Survivor Greece filming paused as contestant injures leg in boat accident
Survivor Greece halted production after contestant Stavros Floros lost part of his leg in boat propeller accident

Production on Survivor Greece has been suspended after contestant Stavros Floros lost part of his leg in a boating accident during a break from filming in the Dominican Republic.
Floros, 21, was spearfishing off Saona Island when he was reportedly struck by a tourist boat.
According to a statement from production company AcunMedya, the incident happened outside the reality show’s competitive activities.
The company described the incident as a “serious accident” and said that authorities were continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“According to the information available so far, the accident appears to have happened when a tourist boat injured the contestant while he was spearfishing outside the competitive process of the reality show,” the statement said.
Authorities reportedly said Floros suffered a partial amputation of his left leg after being hit by the boat’s outboard engine propellers. He also sustained significant injuries to his right ankle.
AcunMedya stated there was “an immediate response” to provide medical assistance to the contestant following the incident. Local authorities are continuing an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
In a translated statement shared on Survivor Greece’s official Facebook page, representatives for the programme said Floros was “out of danger” and had regained consciousness while receiving treatment in an intensive care unit.
The statement added that “an air transfer to a specialised centre in the United States is being considered.”
Following the incident, Greek broadcaster SKAI Television confirmed that broadcasts of Survivor Greece had been suspended until further notice.
“Despite the fact that the production of Survivor is carried out exclusively under the control and responsibility of AcunMedya, SKAI is closely monitoring developments on the participant's health and will contribute in every possible way to his treatment, as well as to any hospitalisation and rehabilitation care that may be required,” the station said in a statement.
