Gutka smuggling:former judge held

A former civil judge was arrested in Tando Muhammad Khan on Friday under charges of smuggling raw materials of mainpuri and gutka.

The police informed that the B-Section police searched a car after receiving a tip-off, allegedly recovering 10 large gunny sacks of raw materials, one large bag of mainpuri and an unlicensed pistol.

The police later arrested Zahid Hussain Mugheri, Sajid Lashari, Bilal Soomro and Muneer Mallah and booked them in an FIR.

Woman lost to 'honour'

One more woman in Sindh became a victim of the despicable honour killing tradition as a man in Sukkur district slit throat of her wife, Razil Rind, besides rendering her multiple stab wounds as well.

The police told that the suspect Gulab Rind informed Razil's family over phone that he had killed her in the morning and that they should take away her dead body.

The police added that some time ago the slain woman had returned to her family, citing death threats from her husband. However, some influential people of the local community settled dispute between the couple and sent her back to her husband's home. The police are yet to register the case.
