Doja Cat hints at a major reset after years in the spotlight
Doja Cat says she wants a three-year break from fame despite currently headlining her global world tour

Doja Cat has revealed that she is considering stepping away from fame for several years despite currently being at the height of her music career.
In a recent interview with Elle magazine, the Grammy-winning rapper and singer shared that she would like to take an extended break from the spotlight after years of nonstop work. The artist, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, said she hopes to spend time focusing on personal interests and life away from the entertainment industry.
“I think I want to take three years off,” Doja Cat said during the interview, adding that she wants the freedom to “just do whatever.” She also mentioned plans to focus on creative hobbies and furnishing parts of her home that she has neglected during her busy schedule.
Doja Cat first gained widespread attention in 2018 after her viral hit “Mooo!” exploded across social media platforms. Since then, she has become one of the most commercially successful artists in pop and rap music, releasing multiple chart-topping albums and singles over the past eight years.
The singer is currently leading her Tour Ma Vie world tour in support of her fifth studio album, Vie. Industry recognition for the artist has continued to grow in recent years, with Billboard previously naming her among the world’s biggest pop stars and Time including her on its influential people list in 2023.
Beyond her music career, Doja Cat has frequently made headlines for her personal life, including her reported relationship with Joseph Quinn. Recent reports, however, suggest the pair may no longer be together.
